Calculated on your device

The default range is an example week. Either date order is supported.

Choose the other date in your range.

Nonworking weekdays

Select every weekday your schedule excludes. All combinations are supported.

Dates to include

The earlier date is determined chronologically, even if you reverse the inputs.

Holidays and other nonworking dates

Optional. Add the dates your schedule excludes. Country holidays are not added automatically.

No additional nonworking dates.

    Import a list of dates

Paste dates separated by commas, spaces or new lines. Up to 1,000 entries. Import adds valid dates to your list and ignores duplicates. An invalid entry leaves your list unchanged.

    Example and counting rules

January 1–7, 2024 with both dates included has 7 calendar dates. Excluding Saturday and Sunday leaves 5 working days. If you enter January 1 as a holiday, the result is 4. With no weekends and no holidays, all 7 dates count.

Working days = considered calendar dates − weekend dates − additional holiday dates. Duplicate holiday dates count once; holidays already on a weekend are not subtracted again. Holiday dates outside the considered range are ignored for the result but remain in the exported input list.

Dates are ordered chronologically for counting, so reversing inputs preserves the nonnegative result. “Exclude earlier date” removes the earlier endpoint regardless of input order; equal dates then give an empty range. Include-both counts that single date if it is a working day.

Microsoft’s NETWORKDAYS.INTL explanation illustrates excluding weekends and an entered holiday list. This tool additionally offers any combination of excluded weekdays and explicit endpoint rules. It does not infer a country’s holiday calendar.

    Limits and privacy

Gregorian dates 0001–9999, including dates before historical calendar adoption. Holiday list: up to 1,000 unique dates; optional imports accept up to 1,000 entries and 16,000 characters; all must be real ISO dates in the supported range. No half-days, hours, rotating shifts, country feeds or observed-holiday substitutions. No legal, employment or payroll verdicts. Time zones and daylight-saving changes do not affect chosen calendar dates.

Inputs stay in browser memory without uploads or saved schedules. CSV includes your input dates, weekend/endpoint rules, counts and the unique entered holiday list. Familiar patterns keep their existing names; other patterns use custom weekday numbers (0 = Sunday through 6 = Saturday). The calendar preview shows one selected month at a time; dates outside the considered range are marked. Reset restores the examples and clears the holiday list and results. Undo action restores the dates, schedule, endpoint rule, holiday list and unfinished holiday entries before a preset, date shortcut, Reset or calendar edit. Manual editing begins a new state.

    Are public holidays automatically included?

No. Enter relevant nonworking dates yourself, including an observed date if your schedule uses one.

What if a holiday is on a weekend?

That date is already excluded by the weekend rule, so it does not reduce working days twice.
