Use the rules that apply to your pay
Enter basic pay from your applicable pay-matrix cell or payslip. Supply your own allowance rates, contribution basis and effective date. The calculator does not select current DA, city classification, pension scheme or statutory deductions. Its fictional example is for learning the workflow only.
Government allowance rules can have minimum amounts and conditions. For example, the Ministry of Finance’s dated July 2017 allowance announcement describes HRA minimums and rate changes. This is background, not a current-rate preset. Enter fixed HRA when a minimum or exception applies, and verify subsequent orders.
How the estimate is calculated
DA applies to basic pay. HRA is either a percentage of basic or an entered fixed amount. Transport can optionally receive the same DA rate. Employee contribution uses basic alone or basic plus DA on basic. Additional named items are fixed monthly earnings or deductions. Gross totals earnings; net subtracts only entered deductions. The 12-month projection repeats this month without rate changes.
Calculated percentage components round half up before totals, using either the currency’s smallest unit or whole units. Fixed amounts retain their entered precision. Blank optional rates and amounts mean zero. Percentages allow two decimal places; DA is bounded to 1,000%, other percentages to 100%. Monthly earnings and deductions are each bounded to 1 trillion currency units.
Review the actual payslip separately
This estimate does not determine entitlement or calculate income tax, arrears, increments, unpaid leave, HRA tax exemptions, employer contributions or scheme-specific caps. Add known tax/insurance/recovery amounts as deduction rows. All currency choices come from the shared registry and do not convert exchange rates.
Processing is local with no automatic saving. Edits invalidate previous results and discard Undo. Clear, examples and item additions/removals can restore your prior input, accepted estimate, currency search, panels and both HRA entries. Recalculating after one of these actions preserves that recovery. Exports include the source/assumption reference, date, entered rates and worked components. Keep the reference specific enough to review later.
