How to convert PNG to JPG
- Choose or drop one PNG.
- Choose a transparency background using the full color picker or hex entry, then a JPG quality from 10 to 100. Higher quality usually retains more detail and uses more bytes.
- Convert, inspect the preview and download the JPG.
Choose a background for transparency
JPG cannot store transparency. This tool fills transparent regions and blends partly transparent pixels against your chosen solid background. White is the default; any RGB hex color can be used. The live background preview shows the blend before JPG encoding. Check the result before using it on a colored background.
Example
A 1,000 × 500 PNG exports as a 1,000 × 500 JPG. A fully transparent corner becomes the chosen background color (white by default). The dimensions stay the same; the format and compression change.
Privacy and limitations
Files stay in your browser with no upload. Invalid replacements preserve the selected PNG. Changing settings invalidates old output. Undo changes restores the image, background, quality, comparison and download after edits or Clear; a successful conversion or accepted replacement ends recovery. Cancel processing preserves available results and discards late work. Clear restores white background and quality 75 until undone. Preparation and conversion waits have 30-second deadlines; native work already running cannot be forcibly interrupted. Maximum input: 10 MB, 12 million pixels and 4,096 pixels per side. JPG is lossy even at quality 100. Metadata is removed, browser color management may vary, and animated PNG exports a still frame. One image is processed at a time; size reduction is not guaranteed.
Should I convert a logo to JPG?
Keep PNG when you need transparency or crisp fine edges. JPG is useful when a workflow requires it or for photographic content.
