Start with your experience

Choose an outline that fits your situation, then replace its placeholders with your own facts. You can also write from a blank draft.

Illustration only. Do not copy credentials or achievements that are not yours.

Limit: 1,500 characters. The approximate word count uses spaces; it is not a quality score.

Your draft stays in this page. Copy or download it before leaving.

Review before using your summary
  • Keep only statements you can support with your experience.
  • Choose skills and accomplishments relevant to this vacancy.
  • Use accurate numbers when helpful; a concrete outcome does not need a number.
  • Remove filler and repeated information. A summary is optional.

Copy the finished text into the Professional summary field in the resume builder. Opening another page does not transfer or save this draft.

Make the opening relevant

A useful summary connects your relevant skills to evidence from your work, study or projects. CareerOneStop’s resume introduction guide recommends highlighting skills and accomplishments related to the job. These outlines are starting points; rewrite or omit any sentence that does not fit.

Your words and your facts

The tool does not invent achievements, score your writing or predict hiring outcomes. Square-bracketed text is treated as an unfinished placeholder and must be replaced or removed before export. The character limit matches the resume builder. Unicode is preserved in TXT; the separate resume PDF exporter has its own font limits.

Nothing is uploaded or saved automatically. Changing the selected outline only changes its preview. Using an outline or clearing the draft replaces text with one Undo step. Copy or download before leaving the page; the resume builder opens separately and receives no automatic transfer.
